Humans of IDP #115: Bella ’24 & Brittanie ’25

Meet Bella DiPalermo ’24 and Brittanie Chen ’25, two of our EDUC 2610 co-facilitators from this semester and today’s #HumansofIIDP. Here's what these two have to say about IDP and one another!

Why IDP?

Bella:

IDP continuously gives me opportunities to learn about myself and others in a unique and meaningful way. Because of IDP I have been able to develop and enrich my relationships with others. The community IDP creates manages to support and challenge me in the best way possible, and IDP reminds me of my own agency and empowers me to make positive change within myself and the world.

Brittanie:

The skills I’ve learned in IDP have helped me to better communicate with people, whether it be friends, family, or people I’m meeting for the first time. In IDP, I’ve also experienced first-hand the value of creating genuine connections with people. I’m grateful that now as a facilitator I get to give back and offer my students that same experience.

What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Bella:

Brittanie is a genuine, passionate, and all-around amazing person. She creates a healthy classroom environment with her vulnerability and willingness to learn. I admire her whole-hearted dedication to the people in every part of her life. I truly love every moment I spend with Brittanie, and I am beyond grateful to have her in my life!

Brittanie:

My favorite thing about Bella is her infectious sense of humor. She brings light and laughter to our sessions, creating a positive atmosphere where we can learn and connect with our students. Beyond that, her unwavering support to me as a first-time facilitator truly stands out, as it makes our collaboration both enjoyable and effective.
