Humans of IDP #116: Nelson ’23 & Sri ’25

Today’s #HumansofIDP are Nelson Liu ’23 and Sri Ravisankar ’25, two of our EDUC 2610 co-facilitators this semester. Here's what these two have to say about IDP and one another!

Why IDP?

Nelson:

The content that we learn in IDP helps me stay aware of the stories of others and connect through both shared humanity and different life experiences. I’m grateful for the skills that the program has given me, and I continue facilitating because it’s an opportunity to keep learning more and growing in my own life.

Sri:

IDP has been one of my most important and favorite spaces for community and learning at Cornell. I am constantly encouraged to stay on my toes — to learn with purpose and apply the skills to make a meaningful difference. Through IDP, I’ve met so many incredible people who are a constant source of energy, inspiration, and hope for me!

What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Nelson:

Sri is so passionate about IDP and is always doing her best to connect with our students and make sure things are running smoothly for their learning in session. She is so thoughtful in every decision she makes and is constantly striving to grow as an educator and person. Sri is so steadfast, kind, and generous, and I’m really lucky that she’s my co!

Sri:

Nelson leads with heart! He is empathetic and curious, and I can always count on him to bring a positive energy into our sessions. There has never been a dull moment facilitating with him, as he is always trying to find creative ways to engage our students and push them to grow in their capacity as co-learners and leaders. I am so grateful Nelson is my co!
