Introducing Anna Hooper ’25 and Icema Castle ’27, two EDUC 2610 co-facilitators and today’s #HumansofIIDP. Check out what these two have to say about IDP and one another!
Why IDP?
Anna:
I love the IDP community. Throughout my time at Cornell, IDP has always offered a space of connection, honesty, and curiosity. In IDP, I am consistently pushed to learn more about myself and the world, and I am able to explore my interests, challenge myself, and grow.
Icema:
IDP is truly unlike any other course I have taken at Cornell. It has allowed me to better understand myself and explore my perspectives, identities, and beliefs. I value learning from different people within IDP, all of whom come from such diverse thoughts, identities, and beliefs, and I love helping my students discover something new, too.
What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?
Anna:
Icema has a lovely way of fostering community. It is inspiring to see her desire to connect with students and how she cares about them in and out of session. Icema brings a fun, relatable energy and a ton of passion to class, and she is consistently thinking about our students and how she can best support them, while pushing herself to grow.
Icema:
Anna is one of the most thoughtful people I know. Through her attention to detail and care, Anna has an innate ability to make those around her feel seen, which has meant a lot to me personally. I admire how in the classroom she prioritizes our students’ learning and can always ask deep and specific questions to get them to further engage.
