Happy Friday! It’s officially #HumansofIDP season! Kicking off our batch of Spring ’24 EDUC 2610 facilitators are Bita Molaie ’25 and Hans Garcia ’25. Here's what these two have to say about IDP and one another!
Why IDP?
Bita:
IDP has given me a community where I can openly and honestly explore my identity, perspectives, and beliefs. It’s unlike any course I’ve ever taken, and I so appreciate its unique lessons and insights. As a facilitator, I deeply value my opportunities to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, serving as a constant reminder of how much I have to learn from those around me.
Hans:
Surrounding myself with a community of special people has empowered me to explore the dynamics underlying my everyday life. Being able to unpack these ideas thoughtfully and empathetically has helped me learn more about my own identities, hear others’ perspectives, and broaden my worldview. IDP is truly a special place on campus, and it has a special place in my heart.
What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?
Bita:
Hans is an immensely compassionate individual with so much depth to him. He’s one of the most genuine human beings I’ve met, and I admire his ability to put such empathy into the work we do, connecting so naturally with all our students and anyone who meets him. His lively spirit shines through in everything he does, both as a facilitator and individual.
Hans:
My favorite thing about Bita is her unmatched passion for the work she does as a facilitator. She exudes genuine compassion both for me and our students, and she is full of insightful thoughts about each part of our course. It’s truly delightful to be her co-facilitator, and I’m very grateful for her.
