NBA 6870: Leading Across Differences: Understanding Identity, Dialogue, and Influence

This course aims to support the development of effective and empathetic leaders capable of navigating complex systems of power with an awareness of identities, skills for fostering mutual understanding, and frameworks for creating change. We explore identities and how they can shape our own and others’ lives, along with delving into opportunities for leveraging one’s influence to develop more equitable, inclusive teams and organizational environments. By practicing dialogue tools in each session, students deepen their understanding of identity and influence while cultivating skills for communicating across differences in perspective.
