As the semester comes to a close, we have several EDUC 2610 co-facilitator pairs left to feature for #HumansofIDP in the next few weeks (we ran 13 sections this semester!). Today, we’re excited to introduce Joselyn Auquilla ’25 and Shrutika Damle ’25! Here's what these two have to say about IDP and one another!

Why IDP?

Joselyn:

As a student and as a facilitator, IDP has consistently provided me a space where I can authentically discover my own identity and place as a Cornell student. It’s unparalleled in its capacity to foster such personal development, a distinctive feature I’ve encountered in no other course here. Through IDP, I have made great friends and learned the value and profound impact of meaningful connections!

Shrutika:

IDP prioritizes human connection and co-learning in a way no other class I’ve taken does. Being in IDP provides me with a space for engaging in dialogues about social identities and their connections to systems of power. I love the IDP community, where I can be both a teacher and a learner.

What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Joselyn:

Shrutika is the best co I could’ve asked for as a first-time facilitator! She is unbelievably supportive and always looking out for me. She wholeheartedly strives to enhance our students’ learning experience and engagement in our class. Her exceptional skills in facilitation aren’t just admirable, they’ve taught and motivated me continuously!

Shrutika:

Joselyn is the most supportive, dependable, and caring co-facilitator! Her infectious enthusiasm for everything we teach in IDP motivates me to grow and give my best in every session. She is always dedicated to ensuring that our students get the most out of the course. It’s a genuine pleasure to work alongside her!
