This week's #HumansofIDP are Deja Canty ‘20 and Brianna Ramos ‘22. These two co-facilitated a dialogue about socioeconomic status this semester. Here’s what they have to say about IDP and each other:

Why IDP?

Deja:

IDP has become a space where I truly feel like I can talk about any and everything with no judgement. It’s made me more comfortable speaking to people and leading discussions in front of multiple people and has minimized my fear of being judged. I have met so many wonderful and open people during my time with IDP and I wish I could take this with me after graduation (hopefully I can).

Brianna:

I joined IDP as a facilitator to continue my learning from when I was a participant. I am passionate about creating an inclusive campus climate, and I believe that the work IDP is doing contributes to making that a reality.

What is your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Deja:

She’s a stronger facilitator than she realizes. She can relate so well to the group in so many ways and has an extremely welcoming presence. She’s really great at this and I’m excited for her to continue with the program!

Brianna:

My favorite thing about Deja is her confidence. She has a knack for talking in front of large groups of people, and is unafraid to share what she is thinking. Her confidence is contagious, and helps me to feel secure in us as a team.
