Happy Monday! To kick the week off we’re highlighting Emily Abbruzzese ‘23 and Nelson Liu ‘23, two of our EDUC 2610 co-facilitators from this semester. Here's what these two have to say about IDP and one another!

Why IDP?

Emily:

IDP has challenged me to critically think about my social identities and how I can use human connection to create strategic change. I love how I am both challenged and supported in such a unique space. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity as it has allowed me to forge meaningful relationships with individuals I would have not otherwise met.

Nelson:

One of my life goals is to experience as much of the world as I can, which has very little to do with traveling the world and sightseeing, and a lot to do with meeting different people, hearing stories and perspectives, reading books from another time and place, and making all kinds of connections. I keep coming back to IDP because I can feel myself learning and growing each semester as I revisit the same readings and same activities with a different cohort of lovely humans.

What's your favorite thing about your co-facilitator?

Emily:

My favorite thing about Nelson is how incredibly supportive he is. Nelson constantly checks in with my both during our IDP sessions and outside of IDP. He has become an amazing person to work with and a great friend overall! I am always happy to be around Nelson 🙂

Nelson:

Emily is a wonderfully energetic and wild person. She loves to dance, chat, play music, and get the energy up. And beyond that, I admire that she is incredibly kind, sensitive to the feelings of others, and has a strong sense of responsibility.
